KINDA' NICE...

What this world needs is a new kind of army -
the army of the kind.
Cleveland Amory

Do you suppose these two ants could carry that big, red apple? I don't know much about ants but these two seem to be discussing their problem! I just think two are better than one, right? Sure.

However...there are exceptions. Concerning getting things done, Michael's dad used to say
"When you're working just one boy, he plays half the time - works half the time. When you're working two boys? It's all play...forget the work." (That would be M & his younger brother, Ben).

Those two boys grew into wonderful men; Ben is a regular "Dr. Welby"...helping others. I don't think I need tell you what Michael is...you know him!

Nice!

In September M & I spent a week in Colorado Springs ~ lots of nice things occurred. Like? Well, we decided to spend a day in the old part of the city; it was a gorgeous day! We hadn't gone far before we began to hear lots of laughing and talking. Ha, ha!

Here came a big group of high school students; decked out in identical t-shirts w/Id's...guys and gals together...charging up the sidewalk. There were groups of them everywhere...in all directions...up & down the streets...wow!

No way we'd miss them; this one group wouldn't let us anyway. They asked if they could give us hugs...they were spending the day 'hugging people'. We said sure and told them we were celebrating our 60th anniversary. I mean to tell you, every one in that huge group gave each of us a 'bear hug'...took pictures...gave us wishes...even kisses (cheeky)!

Nice!

Our neighbor, Shay, has returned to S. Sudan for yet another of her most important missions...she goes for months at a time. This trip she's trying to help 3 young Sudanese boys to obtain U.S. visa's; schooling and speaking engagements! This friend has more grit in her little finger than I have in my entire body...she goes and works (I do mean work) w/the South Sudanese...so much good is done there by she and many others. The people love her.

Nice!

Friday morning we received a call from a friend who works in China but was here on a month's furlough. A long conversation concerning all the work being done in Qingdao; Ken & Debbie co-operate with he and his wife to spread 'His word' there!

Nice!

Friday night we had a call from China...whoop...Ken and Debbie wishing me a happy birthday...we've known each other for ten years.

Nice!

Michael did something for a special friend at one of the local banks...took a great deal of effort but he accomplished the task. The young bank teller said, "You sure are nice to do this"...M's pleasure.

Nice!

A lady dropped her deposit envelope (full of cash) in a local store last week...unaware, she left the store. While I was there several cashiers were busy trying to locate her and return it.

Nice!

Today I read of a young professional (Ugandan) who is the fifth of thirteen children; he completed his college work and is now paying to send eight siblings to school....he's part of a work in Uganda helping children.

Nice!

"Kindness is more than deeds.
It is an attitude, an expression, a look, a touch.
It is anything that lifts another person."

My attitude is better, working on my expression...my look...I love hugging, reaching out and touching...it's uplifting...kinda' nice! Yes?

Be kind! It's nice!

From my heart...to yours! Vasca
