"Why can't we get all the people together in the world
that we really like and then just stay together?
I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave.
Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye.
I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos."

Michael and I were happy hosts for our family this Christmas...for one super, special get together. Someone tho't we were having all 21 of us in our home....ha, ha! That would've been quite a feat, possible but a tad crowded.
However...for our first Christmas as a married couple, Michael and I had my parents, three brothers and my sister in our very own 22x24' home in Oklahoma. M says it was a 'cracker-box' in a sort of pasture w/no grass, no trees (the cows ate everything)...okay, so it was downright desolate and where did we put all of us? We only had two regular sized beds! Good thing we don't remember the details! I do remember we called it our 'doll house'...love does wonders! Right?
Older and wiser...for this latest and very special family time we opted for comfort; all gathered in Granbury at a very beautiful inn. One afternoon, evening w/an overnighter that spilled over into breakfast and icing on the cake...a family worship service together. Everyone...and everything...was special.
We were together; our four sons and their families...our family! I love those words, our family! I couldn't get words out to tell them my feelings about our time together; imagine me...speechless? I cry when I'm happy so...I cried.
Those are such special times and I think like...well, like Charlie and Snoopy..."why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then...just stay together. I guess that wouldn't work."
M says, "Short times together are good; they leave a good feeling and no one has time to spoil it". Oh well, guess you're right, Charlie Brown. Probably wouldn't work...then again...you think?

My first post for 2013 and it's mid-January! So soon? Oh yeah, so very soon. Thanksgiving came much too early and Christmas? Wow...it came before we'd wrapped up being thankful. But...speedy or not, the holidays were wonderful...and they are 'yesterdays'.
