A ROSY OUTLOOK...

"What you see depends on whether you're looking
at it with blinders on or rose-colored glasses.
You've got to see beyond what you're looking at."
Linda Carter

I first began wearing glasses in my mid-40's...and have worn them ever since.  However I didn't begin wearing prescription sunglasses until much later.  Once, Michael took my glasses in to be tinted and, to my great delight, surprised me...with rose-colored ones!  Ha!  I asked him why and he replied...'You look at everything through rose-colored glasses so I thought I'd give you a pair of your very own'.  I was sooo happy then and remain so!  He knows how to please...oh does he ever!

I much prefer rosiness to wearing blinders...but...I think blinders are accidentally worn by many of us...I suppose in some cases they're worn intentionally...you think?

These days everyone seems to draw a line; we agree to disagree.
If one says it's dark...the other says it's light.
If one loves God...the other is an Atheist.
If one is a liberal...the other is a conservative.

"Don't you wonder what would happen if we all stood together?
Maybe we're the pieces.
What?
Maybe that's it.
With what you were talking about before.
The world being broken.
Maybe it isn't that we're supposed to find
the pieces and put them back together.
Maybe we're the pieces.
Maybe what we're supposed to do is come together.
That's how we stop the breaking."
David Levithan

This is a special time...Thanksgiving...and it's a lovely time...families get together...we help those who cannot help themselves...we are grateful...ever so thankful.  Michael and I have spent many of these special days apart...and while it was somewhat sad, we gave thanks for Father's watchful care...many times over!  The boys and I had loving family supporting us...M had fellow soldiers and God...great support.

Our family has expanded and we can't always be together on holidays...sharing time is important so no one feels ignored.  It's necessary to spread oneself around...no playing favorites and everyone understands and accepts that, right?  Of course...that's called 'love'.  M & I always tried to be impartial about that and it seemed to work smoothly enough...as far as we knew.  Ignorance is bliss?

Some families break apart because of misunderstandings...Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays have been known to throw a kink into an otherwise harmonious group.  But...if families care enough about harmony...they can and will stand together.

Times change, families grow...ours is expanding slower than some but we're getting there.  We've added two grand-daughter-in-laws this year...blessings!

I've had many difficulties in the past; thankfully God held me up and w/His help, the love of my family and friends I overcame the darkness...that's behind.  Love has held us together and love helps us stand.

Here's what C. S. Lewis wrote:
"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind."
and as Wonder Woman said earlier,
"You've got to see beyond what you're looking at."

Looking inside myself, looking ahead?  Well, standing together begins somewhere...
And I think...it starts with me...and...spreads.
Aah, I'm a piece of the puzzle.

From my heart to yours,
Vasca
