WALKITTY -WALKIN' MY TALKITTY- TALKIN'

Penguins have starred in some hit movies...'Happy Feet' for one'; they're captivating and we feel quite happy watching their shenanigans. Imagine what the 'Chief Penguin' thinks of all that publicity; celebrity status is difficult to handle and armchair agents are waiting for naive birds to waddle by. Who's to know what will happen to them? Aah...they actually don't hear too well, but they've sharp eyes and great communication skills...so? Well, here's my little scenario!

                Now, I'm gonna' talk...
                  you listen !!!
             You listening...???
(This old bird thinks I'm iced...
gonna' lecture me???
I'm freezin' ...what d'ya think?
I listen...he leaves...okay;
I'm outta' here! Gotcha'...)
Yeah...yeah...I'm listenin'...
comin' in loud & clear
(loud anyway)

Okay, this is gonna' make your day...I've been out and around and back again; watched what goes on...tried listening a lot...doused a few times but most importantly I wised up.

We birds don't hear so well so we gotta' be careful of what our public says! Too many of 'em talkitty-talk, yakitty-yak...but their walkitty-walk is out of whackitty-whack! So here's what you do!!!

"Forget what they say...watch what they do!"
**************************************
Reality check...we're humans, not penguins...of course you and I know that but couldn't resist using this picture to...well...sort of 'make a point'. Pardon my silliness, okay? Thanks!

This world is soooo full of hot air...more than enough to lift us way off course! Agree? Politics comes to mind (actually it's down to 24/7 time, inescapable) and it's become extremely 'down and dirty'.

Liar, liar...pants on fire...you betcha'. Doesn't anyone believe anyone these days? Okay, not everyone bends the truth...the media is rife with 'you name it, we'll twist it'...and we suffer through this painful process. It probably won't end in November 'cause the 'wanna-be' crowd will begin...will they possibly wait until the inauguration in January?

All the words in the world don't amount to a 'hill of beans' if the one uttering (or should I say muttering) them doesn't carry through.

To tell the truth? Truth? To tell a lie? Lie? My mother always said one of my brothers and I could never get by with lying; she could tell by our eyes. My other three siblings could totally fool her..fool me too!

You telling a lie? Oh no, cross my heart and hope to die...stick a needle in my eye!!! Ouch.

Back...way back...people shook hands...gave their word and the deal was sealed! A person's word was enough. We've come a long, long way! Progress...oh yeah...contracts are often so wordy you might want a translator!

I'm...well...I tend to be a tad gullible I suppose...by comparison! Okay, comparison to what or who? Well, all depends on which part of the world one comes from...in many countries lying is a way of life. It's a way to exist and extend a life span.

During our first week in China, the head of the English department came to visit and announced that we would spend our Christmas holiday at his home/with his family in their village. We kept that in our thinking cap until we discovered that's a common thing...people are always 'inviting' you for one thing or another because it's the proper thing to do; doesn't mean anything. Lesson learned.

Parents sometimes learn the hard way...walk your talk. Hey, we learn the hard way, right?

Listening...watching? I'm so ordinary no one would pay any attention to me, right? Ha...wrong!!! The main one I'm concerned about watching me is my Heavenly Father...He doesn't miss a thing...nothing. So I'm working on myself...being more careful about what I say. Must tell you that initially I had a 'mind battle' discarding too many horrid thoughts I'd planted and watered there! Ouch...ouch.

What a relief to be 'almost' succeeding...I say 'almost' because I get cocky.
Like the scripture says in I Corinthians 10:12...(from The Message)
Don't be so naive and self-confident. You're not exempt.
You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else

A few days ago Neil Armstrong...our man on the moon...left this life. Tom Wolfe wrote this about Armstrong in his book "The Right Stuff":
"You'd ask him a question, and he would just stare at you with those pale-blue eyes of his, and you'd start to ask the question again, figuring he hadn't understood, and— click —out of his mouth would come forth a sequence of long, quiet, perfectly formed, precisely thought-out sentences."

My love, Michael, and Armstrong are the same age and have something else in common...he's like Wolfe's quote above.

M will be talking to me or answering one of my 'frivolous' questions and he'll pause...I wait and wait and...I finally learned to just wait some more because I know...click. His carefully worded response will come (I'd rather it come sooner than later but...)! I greatly admire and love M's walking His talk...'cause he's God's man, through and through; I'm blest that much of him has rubbed off on me! Birds of a feather.

The 'chief penguin's words of advice; forgetting the wordy talk and watching the walk is something to think on...and you know, I find walking the talk is a great way to motivate myself ~ a good thing because God gives me plenty of opportunities to walkitty-walk what I pray is His talkitty-talk.

From my heart...to yours,
Vasca
