"Pay attention to your dreams -
God's angels often speak directly
to our hearts when we are asleep."
The Angels' Little Instruction Book
by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994
How often do you dream...or perhaps I should ask...do you dream? Some say they don't; some say they do. Me? I dream, and dream and dream some more. Never studied the subject of dreaming; probably it would serve to overly confuse me! Okay, you're thinkin' I'm always confused...well...yes...much of the time that's true!
I do dream most every night/morning...(M says morning's the best time for sleeping...he rarely dreams)...probably they don't last long, who knows? After all, I don't set a timer...who does? That's unimportant to me anyway...I simply dream and remember them when I wake up.
Some of my dreams have terrified me...others are just out of sight weird...too weird for words!
The night prior to the Challenger space tragedy, I dreamed about a space shuttle exploding, falling from the atmosphere into the ocean...killing all the crew! One horrid, unforgettable nightmare...I was stunned to learn of the Challenger's disaster.
One summer my mother and I drove from our home in Norman to visit my sister in Memphis. While there I dreamed about a good friend of mine (in Norman); dreamed she had emergency surgery and had just gotten out of the hospital.
The first Sunday we were home, I met this friend as we entered the church building...I laughingly told her I dreamed about her while we were gone...dreamed she had emergency surgery and had just been released from the hospital. WHAT??? Her reply, "I had emergency surgery while you were gone and I was just released. Vasca, please don't dream about me anymore!!!"
Those are just two of my many dreams...enough already!
Fast speed forward...
This week I dreamed one of my friends and I were troubled about something...when I woke I thought, "Okay, I need to talk to her this morning...we need to talk." I keep my cell phone by my bed but decided it was too early to wake someone w/a call so opted to e-mail instead.
Booted up the computer and checked the mail...first things first, you know. Ta-Dah! There was an e-mail from that friend...saying, 'we needed to talk'. I responded, writing her about my dream and she was as totally stunned as I was...oh boy! Incidentally we worked everything out...quite nicely.
What matters is the nudge or prod to do something...maybe just listening to a friend...reaching out to anyone who's asking for or needing someone...maybe just needs me to listen? Well, I'm doin' it... sometimes I slip up but I'm improving...takes time!

I'm not surprised at the content of some of my dreams...perhaps Michael plays a role here! Every morning he reads to me; we talk and mull over things...meditate (most of our mornings are spent like that). We're blest that God is giving us these precious times together. That's bound to influence my inner thoughts, right? Sure!
Is a still, small voice speaking to me while I'm sleeping...who's to say? Or...is it the Holy Spirit; could it be God sending messages to...ME???
"You talk to God, you're religious. God talks to you, you're psychotic."

Crazy dreams? Crazy me? God speaking? Me listening? Not trying to figure that out...I'm content thinking these are dreams from My Father...and Father knows what He's doing!
Trust me...psychotic or not.
From my heart...to yours,
Vasca
